Breaking Free

A major television series commissioned and produced by TRT (Turkish Radio TV) telling the story of the independence and establishment of the Turkish Republic after WW1.

This was a massive project filmed over a year, with over 200 main roles and containing scenes with extras up to 100,000! Shot on 35mm motion picture film on location in the actual places, for both cinema and as a six part TV series where many facets had to be planned and advised to ensure the suitability of the final project for worldwide distribution and replication.

The army were involved in manning many of the battles, using live ammunition and shells in various scenes which were backed by pyrotechnics to create the “hell” which these battles were.

The completed material was brought over to UK for post-production, digitising, sound design, final mix and distribution formats which were all completed on time and below budget.
